Cerex FTIR WAG

Waste Anesthetic Gas Monitoring with Low Maintenance, Easy to Operate FTIR

The Cerex FTIR WAG analyzer combines core Cerex FTIR technology with hardware and features which specifically  enhance performance for monitoring of anesthetics and common hospital gases in both workplace exposure monitoring and leak detection applications.

Designed specifically for leak detection and exposure monitoring in hospital environments, but capable of much more.

A true multi-gas analyzer, the high resolution of the Cerex FTIR allows simultaneous monitoring of both ambient and transient gas species from PPB to PPM levels.

May be operated installed in a rack, upon a bench top, or oriented vertically on wheels.

Continuous operation on AC power and 4 hour run time on battery. Available with two battery slots as an option for 8 hours of run time.

At it’s core the Cerex FTIR WAG analyzer uses a no maintenance IR detector. Consumables are limited to sample filters, cooling air filters and the IR source. All are low cost and field replaceable.

Anesthetic Gas Detection

Minimum detection limits for operating room gases:

Nitrous Oxide: 90 ppb

Sevoflurane: 70 ppb

Desflurane: 40 ppb

Isoflurane: 40 ppb

Halothane: 70 ppb

Enflurane: 60 ppb

Standard Hospital Gas Library

In addition to anesthetic agents, the Shepherd FTIR standard Hospital Gas Library allows for PPB level detection of a variety of chemical compounds. Gases may be added to the Hospital Gas library, or the entire library may be changed for a different library at any time.

Consumables

The Shepherd FTIR utilizes a closed cycle Stirling engine to cool the MCT detector to 77K. This provides the broadband spectral sensitivity of a liquid nitrogen cooled FTIR, but without the need to handle LN2. The Stirling engine has a 20,000 hour MTTF. Upon exhaustion return the analyzer to Cerex for refurbishment of the Stirling engine and renewal of warranty. Other consumables include sample filters, which are replaced in the field based on site conditions, and the IR source, which is also field replaceable and has a service life in excess of five years.
